Firebirds Back At .500 As They Fall To Brewster 4-3

The Orleans Firebirds started things off right against Brewster. In the bottom of the first inning, Kolten Wong (Hawai'i) singled and then pulled off a straight steal of home during the at-bat of Will Piwnica-Worms (Duke).

Matt Sisto (Hawai'i) threw six innings of shutout baseball. He allowed three hits and walked one while striking out two. Sisto dropped his earned run average to 1.64 on the season.

In the third, Kolten Wong homered to increase the lead to 2-0 Firebirds.

With the Firebirds up 3-0 in the eighth, Kenny Long (Illinois State) gave up two runs. John Brebbia (Elon) then gave up two more runs in the ninth and the game ended with the Whitecaps over the Firebirds 4-3.

The Firebirds look to avenge their loss to the Hyannis Harbor Hawks from the first game of the season tomorrow at 7:00pm in Orleans.
